Scuba diving in Madagascar, right from the lodge

Our onsite dive centre gives you direct access to some of the best reef diving in the Indian Ocean — turtles, rays, vibrant coral and rarely-dived walls.

Why dive from Sakatia Lodge?

Nosy Sakatia sits within a protected marine area with minimal boat traffic and healthy reefs. The dive sites range from shallow coral gardens to deeper walls and wrecks — ideal for both beginners and experienced divers. No experience? No problem.

A Discover Scuba Diving session is a safe, relaxed introduction to the underwater world, with no certification needed. After a full briefing on land, your instructor will guide you every step of the way as you build confidence in calm, shallow water near the lodge before heading out to the reef.

For first-time divers, the try dive takes place at The Pool, a sheltered house dive site close to the lodge and perfectly suited to easing into your first underwater experience. By the end, most guests are already looking forward to their next dive.

The reef after dark

Some of the most striking marine life at Nosy Sakatia only appears after dark. Night dives reveal sleeping turtles, hunting octopus, lobster and a completely different cast of characters on the same reef you dived that morning.

Fluoro diving takes it further, using specialised UV torches and filter masks, the reef lights up with bioluminescent colours invisible in daylight. Rare scorpionfish, cephalopods and coral polyps glow in colours you won't forget.
